Acupuncture

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the stimulation of specific points on the body, known as acupuncture points, to relieve pain or treat a health condition. Usually very fine needles are used but a laser may be used if you prefer.

At Phoenix Centre for Acupuncture we do a range of acupuncture techniques including:

  • Traditional and modern acupuncture
  • Ear acupuncture
  • Laser Acupuncture
  • Electroacupuncture
  • Trigger Point Therapy (also known as dry needling).

Needles are usually left in place for ten to twenty minutes but sometimes may only be left for a few minutes – we constantly monitor the treatment so we know when it is complete! Usually we use no more than three acupuncture points and sometimes only one!

Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine originated in China 2,500 years ago was the main form of medical diagnostic and treatment therapy for many centuries. At Phoenix Centre of Acupuncture we combine the traditional pulse and tongue diagnosis with modern medical tools to provide you with a comprehensive diagnosis.

We then tailor your treatment by selecting from a range of Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques including:

  • Acupuncture
  • Cupping
  • Moxabustion and heat therapy
  • Pre-packaged herbal medicine including liniments.
